About this Short Film
Caught in a whirlwind of excitement upon spotting sight of a ferris wheel, the creator instigates speculation about its appearance in a suburban area. Cut to the creator in a different place where he introduces his soft toy elephant that he is carrying with him, named Victor Trumper. He explores further and further along the Meanjin-Brisbane River with Victor, expounding many different discoveries and reflections, both positive and negative, of their life as abstractive companions and playmates. Along the way, the creator takes many opportunities to sport his charisma and style in front of the camera, and to establish strong animal rights themes that are universally important. The irony and tension of an adult “humanising” a toy elephant may be constant throughout the film. The care and love evident between the two, however, may be seen through different lenses of interpretation.
