A documentary about growing up with Morquio Syndrome Type IVA, diagnosed as a toddler and raised largely inside hospitals during a childhood where Tracey learned to read people before she learnt to read books. It traces a turning point at school, where an attempt at inclusion during sports day backfires and teaches Tracey to withdraw and self-protect rather than risk rejection, a struggle she hid from her parents to spare them. The emotional center is a spinal fusion at age nine and the six months in a full-body brace that followed, framed alongside portraits of both parents a mother whose constant warmth and smile carried more weight than she let on, and a father whose quiet rituals, like letting Tracey pick stickers after appointments, gave her moments of just being a kid. It closes on a hard-won shift, from years of fear and guilt driving every choice to a place where fear remains but no longer leads, ending on Tracey finally being able to let her start a journey of discovering how she is outside of Morquio.
