Sunside State High School's Diverse Learning Hub Living Science Program 2022. Started off with not much gardening and a lot of class lessons sadly due to floods and COVID. Traditional damper thanks to Mabu Mabu and the Stephen Alexander Kitchen to the Garden Program using wattle seeds, saltbush and lemon myrtle. We made scones, cream, lemonade and self-raising flour. Students learn about habitats and environments and how we humans are impacting on nature. We learn about bugs in the garden and how to encourage good and discourage bad bugs without using pesticides. Finally the rain has stopped and we can now start our winter crops for 2022. We're going to see pods look like human skulls. Herb Posey students make and sell these to staff at our school and use the ingredients from our wonderful herb garden that is ever expanding. Our students take so much pride in what we grow. Gardening allows students to gain life skills and learn to appreciate our farmers and what it takes to grow produce. Thank you for watching our film.
