Film Transcript

Phone call that changed my mind. Yeah. Have you got a few minutes? Two years ago I got a phone call offering me a job: "Would you like you to facilitate a performing arts group for people with disabilities?" So I took the job. I walked in there on the first day prepared, professional, excited, feeling like a real teacher, but I could never have expected the things that I would learn.

It's never-ending. They do it every week. Just when I think they can't possibly surprise me anymore, they show me how to express myself, how to appreciate the small things in life. How you feeling? Are you happy? Can you tell me why? Tell me about that coffee you had this morning — must have been a good one. How to surpass expectations, how to be silly.

And now I knew one: "now yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum." And now go from proper blood from, from, from, from. How to carry myself with integrity, grace, style, and pretty much how to be awesome. How to love endlessly.

What do you think of when you think of Davey? It's uneven. I think that the whole time I thought I was teaching them.
